Do you really know?

Most companies have spent many hours and resources on defining mission and vision statements followed by campaigns to inform both their clients, business relations and staff on the results of these positioning statements.
However… the proof of the pudding is in the eating!
Do we really know if these mission statements and the supportive stories in which we envisage our staff and company to distinquish themselves in a highly competitive market have landed, accepted and are being executed in our daily operations?

And do we know how to effectively address required changes in these values and behaviours. Is a top-down approach a good way forward or should we work with the informal champions in our company. The latter approach is often rated as superior but do we really know who this champions are (in the perception of their fellow workers)?
